Thank you for your stand regarding disrespect shown by some visitors at Culloden battlefield. We are regular visitors, and regular complainants, regarding visitors' dogs loose on the battlefield. The local NTS representatives seem puzzled by our protests, and emails to NTS HQ are not answered. By the publicity resulting from your raising awareness of the battlefield as a war grave perhaps the 'couldn't care less' attitude of the NTS will become a thing of the past?
We were at Ypres visiting my Grandfather's grave last year and  were impressed by the work of Commonwealth War Graves Commission and the Belgian authorities. A big contrast to the NTS.

Yours sincerely

Subject: WELL DONE

Dear Mr MacNeill;

Just a wee note to say I was happy to take note in the P & J that signs encouraging reverence at Culloden were to be erected! LONG overdue!
People seem oblivious to the fact that they are walking on graves....and a sacred, if sad, site...even with mounds being v obvious. Great work!
Congrats to yourself and the Circle.
Suas Alba!

Sincerely,
The Rev'd Canon (Father) Mel Langille Sagart / Priest

Dear Mr MacNeill

With reference to the article on the BBC website, which discusses the attitude of some tourists on Culloden Battlefield, my friend and I had a similar experience on St Andrews graveyard.

It wasn't tourists, it was Scottish people who were picnicking and playing football between the graves. When we walked away from the cemetery, we saw a family eating ice cream and then throwing away their garbage when they stood some 3 feet from a bin.

It is appalling how some people will disrespect historic sites. Those images of that family stick with me about as thoroughly as St Andrews itself.

Luckily, no such thing when we were at Culloden.

Sincerely

Sir,

We humbly acknowledge your desire to become one of the chosen few .

However your over exposure to the media  in publications such as "Hello" and "Ok"  has placed your profile in an unwelcome spotlght. As one with direct connections to " The Big Yin" you will, I am sure appreciate our reluctance to have our political movements shadowed by the gutter press.

Nonetheless, you have come with the patronage of one of the most distinguished families in Scotland, although I believe that regarding the Rhuallan sept, their politics have changed over the years and are viewed in some "circles" as having gone over to the "dark side". Having seen, on many occasions,  the aforementioned clansman stagger home quite intoxicated, stopping only  to curse passing vehicles and children, I would question the  character of any connected to such a fellow. Such weakness is sadly  commonplace with such consience stricken lovers of the union.

I sadly must conclude that  your application, I fear, will come to naught.

p.s. A  private financial arrangement(a bung) may be an attractive alternative or perhaps a liason between H.R.H Princess Stephanie and Mr Donnachie may  just do the trick.

We are your humble servants

The Circle.

Subject: A New Alliance

Sir, I have learnt of your cause through an old and trusted ally of mine. The McInnes of Rhuallan, one time constable the Lords of the Isles and bowmen to the McKinnon's of Skye has served us with devotion and true loyalty. It seems that you and your followers are a like minded band.

I have a direct family connection to one of the leading characters responsible for the very birth of your noble cause. Sir, I would deem it a very great honour to be considered for entry to the inner circle. My connections to the Vatican through my marriage to HRH Princess Caroline of Monaco could prove to be a great asset to you as fellow bead rattlers.

If you doubt my intentions please refer to my Wikipedia entry ?

Sir, I remain Yours loyally,

HRH Ernst August V
